As the co-founder and CEO of Moovs, Amir Ghorbani has lived in this problem for as long as he can remember.
“My parents actually started a transportation business before I was born,” Ghorbani said. “Being around the transportation industry my whole life, I really started to discover a real problem, which is, why is there not one operating system for the entire transportation business?”
Ghorbani and his team started with automating core workflows for transportation businesses, such as ride dispatching, driver assignments, operator management, affiliate work, and more. They knew they also wanted to help their customers with a marketing and CRM product. Some of their customers were already trying to stitch together a number of disparate tools like Mailchimp, Active Campaign, Hubspot, and more, but the capabilities were limited without all the data that already lives inside Moovs today.
“We recognized and knew by building it inside the Moovs system, there’d be inherent value of having all your data—your campaign data, your customer data, your reservation data—all in one place,” Ghorbani said. “This would enable more personalized, targeted, and automated text and email follow-ups, conversions, and triggers based on Moovs’ events.”
As with many other multi-product companies, though, it was hard to find the resourcing.
“Every quarter, in terms of future products, CRM was always a discussion, but it always felt like it would be months of development and months of resources,” Ghorbani said. “Pocketflows allowed us to take a risk on an add-on that that took us only weeks to develop.”
By working with Pocketflows, Moovs could focus on the core workflows unique to the transportation business. The flexibility of an API-first product also allowed them to inject their earned insights and perspectives about the vertical into the embedded CRM.
For transportation operators, staying top of mind for their customers with marketing really does make a difference—and the numbers are here to back it up.
“What's awesome is that we've been able to integrate Pocketflows into the existing data architecture of our operators for their customer booking platform, so we're able to see and provide our operators with these dashboards around how many reservations and value it's creating,” Ghorbani said. “So far, we're seeing an average of 4-5x ROI on the CRM investment for [transportation businesses].”
By sending personalized promotions to customers based on specific data and trends inside Moovs, transportation business have been able to accrue more referrals, re-engage inactive riders, and increase bookings.
Not only has this additional value helped their operators grow, but it’s also helped Moovs grow their topline.
“This has been our strongest add-on to our ACVs for our account,” Ghorbani said. “For each customer that’s adding on the CRM, we’re actually doubling our ACVs, which is something we never thought would be possible.”
